To celebrate the 230th anniversary of this historic coin, the U.S. Mint has released a special recreation as a silver medal. The obverse and reverse designs have been meticulously recreated by modern medallic artists, replicating the original designs by Robert Scot, the U.S. Mint’s inaugural Chief Engraver.

The coin's value and collectability is further enhanced by its First Day of Issue designation. This medal is not only a celebration of American numismatic history but also a rare collector’s piece linking the rich past of the U.S. Mint to its present.
