2020 AGE Last Year of Issue Header

ALERT!!!

LAST YEAR OF THIS HISTORIC DESIGN!

Since 1986, the Gold American Eagles have been issued with the same design, with one exception. From 1986 to 1991, the year of issue on the Gold American Eagles were displayed with Roman numerals instead of the Arabic style dating we are accustomed to seeing today.

However, for the first time ever the Gold American Eagle design will undergo a drastic change. The U.S. Mint has announced that The reverse (back) of the Gold American Eagle will receive a total overhaul. This makes this year’s Gold American Eagles the very last of their kind! If history has taught us anything, it is that First Year and Last Year Issue coins are always in high demand with both investors and collectors of United States Government issued gold coins.

Take for instance the 1991 $25 Gold American Eagle. It’s the last year the U.S. Mint issued Gold American Eagles with roman numeral dates and along with its low mintage, the 1991 $25 Gold Eagle easily one of the most valuable gold coins in the entire series.
Keep in mind that over the last three-years the Gold American Eagle mintages have been extremely low. As U.S. Mint resources are already spread thin, 2020 will more than likely see the same, if not lower, mintages than recent years. This could make the 2020 Gold American Eagles, especially those in low populated flawless MS-70 grades, the most valuable coins in the entire series.

We have a very limited allocation of MS-70 2020 Gold American Eagles hand-signed by 42nd U.S. Treasurer Anna Cabral. Hand-signed Anna Cabral U.S. coins are some of the scarcest signature series coins available. As one of NGC’s most prominent signers, the 42nd U.S. Treasurer does not sign many coins and as a result, most of these Gold Eagles will have maximum populations of less than 50 coins!

Because of the extremely limited availability, these hand-signed Anna Cabral Gold American Eagles are only available through our Private Client Services Group. Please call 1-866-755-RARE
