Fractional Gold Eagles are extremely tough to find right now, especially anything minted prior to 2022. Over the last 5 years the United States Mint has made fewer and fewer fractional Gold Eagles, especially the $25 (1/2 ounce) gold pieces!

Mintages for the 2017-2019 $25 Gold American Eagles are among the lowest in the entire series. In 2018, the U.S. Mint only produced 32,000 $25 Gold American Eagles. Only two years have lower mintages. The 1991 with 24,100 coins struck, and 1990 with just 31,000 coins struck. These two dates frequently trade between dealers UNCERTIFIED for around $4,000 each!

Many large IRA companies and precious metal dealers around the country once again began promoting lower mintage $25 Gold American Eagles and have sent prices for many of these issues to new all-time highs. It has become quite apparent that these dealers are starting to buy and promote more and more low-mintage $25 Gold Eagles. This, in my opinion, will no doubt benefit the later-date coins with lower mintages from 2017-2019.

This leaves an incredible opportunity to buy low-mintage, key-date coins before they are priced as key-date coins!

The 2018 $25 Gold American Eagles are undervalued, in my opinion. So far, they have not been promoted, but it is only a matter of time before they are.

Acquiring more recent low mintage dates like the 2018, that have not yet appreciated much above ultra common dates seriously limits any downside risk while also giving the opportunity for appreciation from not only increasing gold prices but hopefully an increase in rarity price like we have seen on so many of the $25 Gold Eagles in the past.

I absolutely love coins like this. Unfortunately, it's extremely hard to find low-mintage Gold American Eagles right now.

We managed to buy a very small group of 2018 $25 Gold Eagles independently certified as flawless MS70 examples. We only paid a about 5% extra premium for these 2018 as opposed to common-date $25 Gold Eagles in MS70. It's a tiny premium that I felt was worth the small upcharge.

We have 38 of these low-mintage 2018 $25 Gold American Eagles in perfect MS70 grade.

Keep in mind most $25 Gold Eagles have mintages of 70,000 coins and in 1986 the U.S. Mint struck more than 500,000 $25 Gold Eagles.

The 2018 $25 Gold American Eagles in MS70 represent a tremendous value for buy-and-hold clients who understand and appreciate the added potential and desirability associated with scarcity at this level.
